Former Blackpool striker Ricardo Fuller could join Millwall but fellow forward Bobby Zamora will remain at Queens Park Rangers, according to Lions manager Ian Holloway.

Fuller was one of seventeen players released by the Tangerines at the end of 2013-14, having scored six goals from 28 games during his solitary season at Bloomfield Road, while Zamora was out-of-contract with QPR after scoring the winning goal in the Championship play-off final to secure Premier League promotion.

Holloway, who is about to begin his first full season in the New Den dugout after succeeding Steve Lomas in January, is hopeful of agreeing terms with Fuller, but has conceded defeat in his efforts to sign Zamora after speaking to the man he once coached at Bristol Rovers.

"Ricardo was in to have a chat. His agent is now talking to (chief executive) Andy Ambler about maybe offering him something," the former Crystal Palace, Blackpool and Leicester City boss was quoted as saying by News at Den.

"But I think we will need another striker personally. It could have been Zamora and Fuller - two big ones and they could have played in the same frontline and they'd have bought John Marquis and Aiden O'Brien some time.

"If it's not going to be Bobby and Fuller, it will be Fuller and someone else."

The 51-year-old added:  "Bobby called me this morning - he's going to re-sign for QPR so that it is a definite. It was great to chat to him and we were serious about trying to get him.

"He had the decency to ring me first so good luck to him. I'll be moving on and trying to find someone else."
