Championship strugglers Millwall are eyeing a summer move for highly-rated Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for the Dons, smashing in 14 goals to catch the eye of plenty of onlooking scouts and managers, with Lions manager Neil Harris clearly keen on the forward.

According to Alan Nixon, Millwall are keen on signing the striker ahead of next season regardless of what league they may sit in, although a 2-0 win over West Brom yesterday put them in a good position to avoid the drop into League One.

Cosgrove, who has proved a handful due to his size, could well prove to be a shrewd capture for Millwall, who are keen on adding players to their squad who have a bit of presence and fight about them, something which Harris loves to see in his teams.

Aberdeen will want to keep hold of their star man though, and any move for Cosgrove will no doubt cost the Lions a fair chunk of change.

Cosgrove has previously has spells with the likes of Wigan and Carlisle, but has really found his feet in Scotland with Aberdeen.

The Verdict

A signing which has Millwall written all over it really.

Cosgrove is a big unit of a player with a lot to prove, and is of the right age to improve further and keep firing in the goals.

Neil Harris is a shrewd operator, and he'll have done his homework on Cosgrove no doubt before making a concrete bid.
