Millwall have confirmed on the club's official website that Neil Harris has signed a new deal.

Harris commits his future to Millwall with a new long-term deal, although the length of his deal has not yet been specified.

After joining initially as interim boss towards the end of the 2015/16 season, Harris has delivered much success to the South London club, halting their slide and bringing back plenty of optimism among supporters.

The 40-year-old guided them to promotion from League One via the play-offs in the 2016/17 season as they beat Bradford City to earn their place back in the Championship.

And despite many tipping them to struggle, Harris oversaw a remarkable charge up the league table as the Lions narrowly missed out on a spot in the top six and a chance to compete in the play-offs to earn promotion to the Premier League.

Harris has now penned a new long-term contract at The New Den as he aims to go one higher next season with Millwall.

The Verdict

This is great news for Millwall because Harris has overachieved given his resources.

Without spending too much money, Harris has brought plenty of success to the South Londoners and the fans are dreaming of promotion to the top flight for the first time in the Premier League era.

With Harris at the helm, playing his simple but very effective football, Millwall will be a force to be reckoned with next season.
