Millwall look poised to sign Brighton and Hove Albion winger Jiri Skalak after the two clubs agreed a fee.

According to The Argus, the 26-year-old must agree personal terms with the Lions before finalising his move to The Den this summer.

The Czech Republic international failed to make a Premier League appearance for the Seagulls last season through injury, and has played just once for the side in the past 15 months.

The wide man has never boasted the best goal scoring record for the club, having netted just twice in his 43 appearances for Brighton and Hove Albion.

Skalak has reportedly received wide spread interest throughout the transfer window, despite his lack of game time, with a number of clubs submitting bids for the forward.

Millwall finished three points shy of the play-offs last season, and Neil Harris will be hoping that bolstering his squad late in this summer’s transfer window will be enough for the Lions to push into the top six this season.

The Verdict

Since arriving at The Amex in 2016, Jiri Skalak has never been a joy to watch, scoring just two goals for the club in as many years.

But, after numerous injuries and absences from the team, the Czech will finally get his opportunity to show his potential in a starting line-up.

If personal terms are agreed, Skalak will likely fall into a starting spot in the team for this coming season, and he will need to prove to the critics he does have what it takes to make it in English football.
