Millwall as closing in on signing Tom Bradshaw from Barnsley in a £800k transfer deal.

According to the Mirror’s live transfer blog (09/07, 20:04), Millwall look set to offer Bradshaw an instant return to the Sky Bet Championship, with the Lions willing to offer the striker a four-year deal.

After leading Millwall to eighth in the Championship last season, Neil Harris is looking to bolster his options ahead of the new season, with Bradshaw seemingly a man on his radar.

The 25-year-old was part of the Barnsley squad that suffered relegation to League One last season, but over the course of his two years at Oakwell, the striker has impressed.

Bradshaw has made 88 appearances, scoring 20 goals for the Tykes, with 17 of those coming in the Championship.

Despite Barnsley’s struggles and eventual relegation last season, Bradshaw managed 43 appearances across all competitions, which saw him return 12 goals for the Tykes.

The striker has plenty of Championship experience now under his belt, and is also a full Welsh international.

Bradshaw has three senior caps for his country.

The Verdict

Bradshaw has impressed in recent seasons at Oakwell, and should Millwall complete his signing, Harris will be delighted.

It’s important for Millwall to improve their squad this summer, after such an impressive 12 months.

The addition of Bradshaw will boost Harris’ attacking options, with the 25-year-old’s goal return at Barnsley impressive.

At £800k, this could be an extremely shrewd piece of business.
