Millwall have agreed terms to sign goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski from Ipswich on a permanent basis following his successful loan stint during the first half of the season, according to Football Insider.

Bialkowski has delivered consistently impressive performances since joining the South London outfit on loan from League One side Ipswich over the summer, and it has now emerged that the Poland international is set to join the club permanently.

It is being reported that the 32-year-old is about to see his loan deal converted into an 18-month deal running until the summer of 2021, with Bialkowski having proven his fitness to the Lions' coaching staff during the Championship season so far.

Millwall were reportedly set to sign the goalkeeper on a full-time basis prior to his loan switch in the summer, but the Bermondsey put this permanent deal on hold amid concerns over the former Ipswich man's fitness levels.

However, it is thought Millwall have been pleased with Bialkowski's progress during his 27 league appearances this term, during which time he has kept seven clean sheets, and the stopper is now set to become Millwall's number one for the foreseeable future.

The Verdict

This will come as excellent news for Millwall fans given Bialkowski's solid displays for the Lions this campaign, with the goalkeeper having discovered a new lease of life following his exit from Portman Road last summer.

It was important that Millwall sought to agree a permanent deal for Bialkowski this month in order to eliminate any uncertainty regarding his future, and this should now further benefit the Pole's performances during the remainder of the season.

Bialkowski has particularly impressed since Gary Rowett's arrival at the club back in October, with the new Lions boss having developed a much stronger defensive side at The Den with Bialkowski central to this impressive improvement.

The 32-year-old will be integral to Millwall's potential play-off push this season, so it is good news that the deal has been agreed at this time.
