Saville, a former Chelsea youth player, arrived at the Sky Bet League One club at the beginning of October on a one-month loan deal, but has impressed for the Lions in his three appearances, most notably at Blackpool in midweek.

The 22-year old was highly-rated at Chelsea but was never able to break into the first-team, and spent time out on loan with Millwall and Brentford before joining Kenny Jackett's side for £1 million last summer.

However, he has made just seven starts for Wolves and spent time out on loan with then League One side Bristol City last season, before joining Millwall this month as he continued to struggle to earn a place in the team.

Millwall boss Harris, when asked about the possibility of extending Saville's loan, said: 'George has made three very good appearances for us. He is very calm in possession with the ball, and aggressive without it.

'He has a wise head on his relatively young shoulders, too - when we went down to 10 men after Carlos Edwards was sent off at Blackpool, he took responsibility and decided he would be the leader, as we had a very young midfield out there.'

Millwall have had a disappointing start to life back in the third tier, but a 2-1 win at Sheffield United earlier today lifts them up to tenth in the league. A brace from Aiden O'Brien gave Millwall a sixth win of the season, and cut the gap between them and the top six to just three points.

Whether Harris is able to negotiate a deal with Wolves to keep Saville at the Den remains to be seen.
