Millwall, Bolton, Hull – Who’s joining Ipswich in Lambert’s seven-team league?

Published

New Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert has suggested on the club’s website, that his side are “in a seven-team league for survival” in the Championship.

Lambert added “We have to get through to January and stay in touch and then we need a little bit of help then”.

So, which three sides are going down from the Championship this season?

We discuss…..

I’m sorry to say it, but unless Ipswich make some magnificent signings in January, they’ll go down.

I can see Bolton going down too – they’re a mess both on and off the pitch and haven’t really got any leaders in their squad.

The final relegation spot will be tight, but I reckon Millwall will drop down I’m afraid.

Hull City, Bolton and absolutely, 100%, Ipswich.

I think Reading have enough fight to stay out of the bottom three, Hull will make a fight of it too, but the other two are doomed.

Rotherham have a spirit I like, they’ll be okay too and I can’t see Millwall still being down there in May.

Jacob Potter

Ipswich already look like dead certain to go down.

They could be joined by Reading who are really struggling under Paul Clement, and then you’ve got the likes of Millwall, Bolton and Rotherham who will all be fighting to retain their Championship status.
