Championship clubs have already been busy adding to their squads during the summer transfer window, as they look to prepare for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign.

West Brom, Fulham and Sheffield United will be looking to win promotion back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, following their relegation into the second tier of English football.

Whilst Peterborough United, Hull City and Blackpool will be looking to make a positive start to life in the Championship, following their promotions from League One last term.

We ask our Football League World writers which team they think has made the best transfer business so far this summer, as clubs look towards the new league campaign, which is set to get underway in under a month's time.

Ben Wignall:

I feel like out of all the teams that have started to make changes to their squad this summer, Luton Town have been the ones to do some eye-catching deals.

Considering the budget they will have had in the last few seasons, the Hatters did so well to finish 12th in the Championship last season, but success will see some of your top stars picked up by bigger clubs, which is what the likes of James Collins and Matty Pearson have gone on to do.

Nathan Jones hasn't sat back though and he's replenished his squad with the likes of Reece Burke, Allan Campbell, Fred Onyedinma and the exciting Carlos Mendes Gomes, but there's also experience with both Henri Lansbury and Cameron Jerome arriving at Kenilworth Road.

I can see them having another good season and I also think that Millwall have done some good bits of business as well.

Daniel Ballard could be a top Championship defender, Scott Malone arriving permanently is a good signing, as is the return of George Saville and if Gary Rowett can get the best out of Benik Afobe then the Lions may have a shot of making the play-offs.

Phil Spencer:

While clubs such as Middlesbrough and Bournemouth have both made strong additions given their own circumstances, I believe that Millwall deserve real credit.

The Lions have operated so well in the transfer market over recent seasons and this summer it seems that they're looking to kick on with some shrewd additions.

Scott Malone was hugely popular last season, while George Long appears to be a very smart free transfer to wrap up.

Daniel Ballard was wonderful with Blackpool on loan last term and looks set to be a future star for Arsenal and so Gary Rowett will be very happy to get this done. Then you have the high-profile additions of Benik Afobe and George Saville. Both players are proven performers at this level and will undoubtedly add to the quality in Rowett's side.

When you add into that that they've probably spent around £1.5million in total it's clear that the business done has been incredibly smart and supporters will be hoping that there's more to come.

George Harbey:

I really like what Luton have done to be honest.

The Hatters have endured a busy start to the summer and Nathan Jones has wasted no time in strengthening his squad.

They seem to have made a really good blend of signings. Cameron Jerome and Henri Lansbury are good experienced signings, whilst Allan Campbell and Carlos Mendes Gomes are exciting prospects, especially the latter.

Birmingham have also made a solid start to the summer, too. They have recruited really well, bringing in Ryan Woods, Chuks Aneke and Jordan Graham on free transfers.

Tahith Chong is an exciting addition too, and I can definitely see both of these clubs fighting for a top-half finish next season.
