Millwall have won the race for Shamrock Rovers attacker Aidomo Emakhu, as per a report from London News Online.

The report states that the Lions have agreed a January transfer move for the 18-year-old, amidst a wealth of competition for the young forward.

Emakhu appeared 22 times for the Irish club during the 2022 Premier Division, with 21 of those appearances coming from the bench, in a year where his side managed to secure the title.

The report states that the Lions have beaten a whole host of Championship clubs and sides from Italy to his signature, whilst Wolves and Southampton previously displayed an interest in the young attacker.

The impressive teenager has featured in the Europa Conference League, Europa League and Champions League qualifying this season, managing to score in each competition.

The verdict

Millwall have proven to recruit very well in recent seasons and this has the potential of being another success story for the London club.

It remains to be seen what the immediate plan for the young attacker will be, especially considering the level of competition within the forward line at The Den as things stand.

It would be no surprise if an immediate loan move is sanctioned for Emakhu when he arrives in January, with a temporary stint in a lower league a good opportunity to acclimatise to the EFL.

The future certainly looks bright for the young attacker, with this having the potential of being an excellent bit of business from the Lions as the January transfer window nears.
