Championship duo Millwall and Huddersfield Town are both keeping an eye on Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The youngster, who moved to the Cherries as a teenager from Sheffield United, is in need of some first-team experience, and both the Terriers and Lions are reportedly interested in his signature.

That is, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon, who claims Bournemouth are waiting to sort out their own transfer business before allowing the English youngster to make a move away from the club and get some vital game time under his belt.

The Cherries paid a hefty fee to take Ramsdale from the Blades just over a year ago but with first-team chances under Eddie Howe so far at a premium, Ramsdale will know that he needs to be getting some first-team action in order to progress his career.

Millwall have only just signed former Bristol City man Frank Fielding, but manager Neil Harris is keen on adding depth and quality across all positions in his Lions squad.

Huddersfield meanwhile are looking at what they can do with their squad following relegation, with number one Jonas Lossl having already moved away from the club this summer.

Ramsdale is still only 21 and has made one appearance for the England under-21's so far in his young career.

The Verdict

Ramsdale is going to be a top goalkeeper but he's definitely at the stage where he needs some games to start developing.

Bournemouth think highly of him and won't want him to go somewhere where he isn't going to play, meaning Millwall might well struggle to convince the Cherries to pick them as Ramsdale's destination.

Whoever does get him though is getting a fine young stopper who can only go on to improve. We saw last season with Dean Henderson how successful loans can be for 'keepers, and Ramsdale will be looking for similar success no doubt.
