2021/22 turned out to be a disappointing campaign for Doncaster Rovers.

Despite coming within a victory of survival, the club were relegated down to League Two at the end of the campaign.

Their final finishing place in the League One table - 22nd.

With that being said, though, the new season is just around the corner, and with a ball yet to be kicked, clubs across the division, including Doncaster, can be optimistic about challenging at the sharp end of the fourth tier.

A key part of any club's success is recruitment, though, and as a result, it is a key couple of months ahead for the club.

With that in mind, here at FLW, we've brought you all of the latest transfer news surrounding Doncaster Rovers at present, in one place.

George Miller relishing match-up

New Doncaster Rovers striker is looking forward to a particular matchup at the beginning of the campaign.

Miller recently moved to Donny, and is relishing the prospect of playing against Bradford City in the club's League Two opener.

Miller spent the 2018/19 campaign on loan with the Bantams.

He told the Doncaster Free Press: “I couldn’t have asked for a better one, it’s a massive first game and it’s my old team."

"Obviously you want to do well and there’s a lot of fans there who will give me some stick, so hopefully I can show up.”

Ross Doohan update

Doncaster Rovers had been linked with Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan this summer, but it appears those reports were wide of the mark.

As per the Doncaster Free Press, Donny are not interested in securing his services.

Furthermore, the report states that Doncaster are not looking to add any further goalkeepers to their ranks this summer.

Clearly, the club are happy with their current options in between the sticks.

Molyneux had options

Finally, it has emerged that new Doncaster Rovers signing Luke Molyneux had plenty of options this summer - with Donny ultimately winning the battle for his signature.

Speaking after signing for the club, Molyneux revealed that he had talks with both MK Dons and Bristol Rovers this summer.

Those talks stalled though, and Molyneux said he was not prepared to wait around, instead opting for the challenge of getting Doncaster back up.

Both of those clubs obviously play their football in League One, so it just goes to show that Donny have a good player on their hands given he was wanted in the division above.
