Pablo Hernandez is set to miss Leeds' controversial end of season tour to Myanmar with his wife due to give birth in the coming weeks.

The Spanish midfielder signed a new two-year deal with the Yorkshire club today despite interest from other clubs after a very impressive second half of the campaign.

However, with his wide expecting a baby shortly, he will not be travelling to Myanmar following the final game of the season against QPR on May 6, as revealed by Phil Hay.

The club have attracted widespread criticism for their decision to go to the Southeast Asian nation due to the situation involving the Myanmar government and it's people at the minute.

Yet, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani defended the decision and insisted the club would still go.

Hernandez is one of few first-team players who won't make the trip, with those called up for upcoming international games also not going, such as Pontus Jansson.
