Sheffield Wednesday have been one of the form teams in the Championship head towards the conclusion of this season.

The Owls have looked like a completely different team since Steve Bruce took charge of the team earlier this year and they're mounting a late charge for a top six finish.

They travel to Elland Road this weekend to take on Leeds United and they've been handed a promising injury boost ahead of the game.

Bruce revealed that both Barry Bannan and Sam Hutchinson could be in line to return to the squad for their game against Leeds United this weekend.

This could mean that the Owls boss is tempted to make changes to his squad, as he looks to adopt a more defensive approach against a Leeds side that will attack from the first whistle.

One man that is likely to be fearing for his starting spot is Joey Pelupessy, who only returned to the starting XI recently.

The Dutchman has struggled for game time with Sheffield Wednesday this season and has been restricted to 23 league starts for the Owls.

But the midfielder has only made two appearances in the last two months, which will certainly be a concern for the 25-year-old.

Bruce has already shown that he prefers Bannan and Hutchinson in the midfield, and it seems unlikely that they won't be involved for such a crucial game at the weekend.

Bannan has been impressive for the majority of this season and is a crucial member of the Sheffield Wednesday squad as they challenge for a top six finish.

Whereas Hutchinson has been as impressive since coming back into the first-team picture, after previously being frozen out by former Owls boss, Jos Luhukay.

So Pelupessy has every reason to be fearing for his starting spot in Bruce's squad, as they travel to Elland Road for one of the biggest games in their season.

Steve Bruce needs his key players available for this one, and Pelupessy could be one of the players sacrificed to make way for a stronger option in the Owls midfield.
