Coventry City’s talented midfielder Ben Stevenson is having a medical with Championship table-toppers Wolverhampton Wanderers according to local journalist Tim Spiers.

Stevenson will start off his time at the club with the Under 23 side when he completes the formalities of his transfer from the Ricoh Arena.

The English midfielder has made just the 12 appearances for Coventry this season as he has struggled with injuries.

He has great ability and will be hoping to rediscover his form and fitness at Molineux – where he could be a Premier League player come May.

He has been on the bench for Tony Mowbray's high-flying League Two side in recently and there should be no complications on the medical.

The Verdict

This is one for the future but no doubt about it, this is a very shrewd move from Wolves. They have some bright young talent on their books and Stevenson will be another one to add to the list.

I wouldn't expect much from him until next season but when he's fit and confident, he could become a real force to be reckoned with, even in the Premier League.
