Ipswich Town have had an absolutely torrid time of it so far this season with the Tractor Boys currently wedged at the foot of the Championship table.

Paul Hurst's revolution of the club's ethos and style did not last long as he was dismissed from his job in October, with Paul Lambert taking over.

But still, the club remain bottom and five points clear of safety. They have won just once in their last six outings and lost three of their last five, leaving a desperate situation.

They appear doomed at the moment but stranger things have happened than a club in Ipswich's position clawing themselves to survival.

Opportunity for improvement is not far away with the January transfer window opening in just over a month, and managers across the Football League will be eyeing up potential targets as well as choosing who to chop.

Here, then, are the realistic deals we can see being struck at Portman Road this winter...

The midfielder moved North of the border in order to pick up more game time with St. Johnstone, but has ultimately failed to do so.

There seems to be little point in Ipswich hanging on to Nydam, so when he returns from his loan in January do not be surprised to see him depart again.

Ipswich have the second worst goalscoring record in the Championship, with only Bolton scoring less than them.

Eaves is a man who knows where the net in and has consistently shown that in League One this season with 11 goals.

He would surely be tempted by a chance to prove himself in the Championship, and he is the sort of player Ipswich would be interested in.
