Midfielder leaves, 11-goal ace signs: The realistic Ipswich January business we can see happening

Ipswich Town have had an absolutely torrid time of it so far this season with the Tractor Boys currently wedged at the foot of the Championship table.

Paul Hurst’s revolution of the club’s ethos and style did not last long as he was dismissed from his job in October, with Paul Lambert taking over.

But still, the club remain bottom and five points clear of safety. They have won just once in their last six outings and lost three of their last five, leaving a desperate situation.

They appear doomed at the moment but stranger things have happened than a club in Ipswich’s position clawing themselves to survival.

Opportunity for improvement is not far away with the January transfer window opening in just over a month, and managers across the Football League will be eyeing up potential targets as well as choosing who to chop.

Here, then, are the realistic deals we can see being struck at Portman Road this winter…
