Huddersfield Town midfielder Oscar Gobern has joined League One Chesterfield on an emergency loan, Chesterfield have confirmed.

Gobern has joined QPR
Gobern joins Spireites on loan until 19 November.

Gobern, 23, is yet to feature for Town this season and has joined the Spireites on loan until November 19.

Gobern joined the Town from Southampton in the summer of 2011 and made 25 appearances in the League 1 promotion campaign. Subsequently he played 42 Championship games over the next two seasons, taking his total appearances to 50 starts and 17 substitute and he's scored twice.

Speaking on the decision for Gobern going to Chesterfield, Town boss Chris Powell told www.htafc.com“We have a lot of competition for places in midfield at the moment with Jacob Butterfield, Conor Coady and Jonathan Hogg doing well and Radi Majewski and young Philip Billing impressing in training, so it makes sense for Oscar to leave on loan to play in competitive matches.

“He’s a bit behind the other players in terms of match sharpness because of the toe injury that kept him out of the start of the season, so this is an ideal move for him.
“Chesterfield is a good footballing team and should suit Oscar’s abilities, so I’m looking forward to seeing how he fares during his month in League 1." Speaking to the clubs official website Spireites boss Paul Cook explained the decision for signing Gobern: "Daniel Johnson is returning to Aston Villa after the Yeovil match so it's important we have options available within the squad.
"It is important that we have the right balance in the team as I have felt that the balance has not been correct in the last couple of weeks. The likelihood is that there will be further activity in the transfer market in the coming weeks."
Gobern also spoke to www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk: "I've been pretty much injured since pre-season so I need some game time.
"I'm very familiar with Chesterfield having played against them a few times. I'm quite physical but I also like to get on the ball when we attack."
