It's been a strong start to the season for Middlesbrough.

With 18 points from their 11 league games so far, 'Boro are currently seventh in the Championship table, just one point adrift of the play-off spots as Neil Warnock looks to work his promotion winning magic once more.

But just how much is the squad that Warnock currently has at his disposal at the Riverside Stadium, actually worth?

Here, we've taken a look at the ten most valuable players in Middlesbrough's current squad, based on their valuations for Transfermarkt.

Having joined 'Boro from non-league football in 2017, Wing really started to establish himself as a key figure in the Championship club's squad last season.

That has changed somewhat this season, with the midfielder featuring just twice in the league - otherwise being forced to settle for a place on the bench - but his valuation of £1.98million still sneaks him into this list in tenth.

A graduate of Middlesbrough's academy, Tavernier has featured in ever league game for Warnock's side so far this season.

With the 21-year-old winger producing some impressive performances during that time, to back up the eight Championship goal involvements he registered last season, earning him a valuation of £2.25million, and ninth on this list.

Given he is on loan from a club with the size and quality of Manchester City, it would probably be something of a surprise if Roberts was not on this list.

The 23-year-old winger, who has shown plenty of flashes of potential despite some fitness problems in recent seasons, also has a valuation of £2.25million.

Another player in Middlesbrough's squad with a valuation of £2.25million, is midfielder Jonny Howson.

The experienced midfielder - who is out of contract at the end of this season - has been a consistently regular for Middlesbrough since joining from Norwich in the summer of 2017, and recently passed 150 appearances in all competitions for the club.

It may have taken him some time to get going, but Paddy McNair is fast becoming a key player for Middlesbrough.

The former Manchester United man has improved drastically for 'Boro since the start of last season, and the versatile Northern Ireland international takes sixth place in this list with a valuation of £2.52million.

Fletcher opportunities this season have been severely hampered by injury, with the 25-year-old making just two league appearances before suffering a setback that could keep him out until new year.

But after an outstanding campaign last season that saw him score 11 goals and provide seven assists in the league, the attacker is still an important player for 'Boro when fit, and takes fifth place on this list, with a value of £3.15million.

Brought in from Greek side PAOK during the summer transfer window to boost 'Boro's forward options, a move to the Riverside also gives former Arsenal man Akpom the chance to show what he can do in English football.

So far this season, Akpom has scored two goals in eight league games, and takes fourth spot on this particular list with a valuation of £3.15million.

Claiming third spot on this list, is central midfielder George Saville, who joined 'Boro permanently in January 2019, having spent the first half of that season on loan from Championship rivals Millwall.

This season has seen Saville become more influential than usual for 'Boro, with two goals and two assists in ten league games helping him to a valuation of £3.6million.

Middlesbrough's key man in front of goal in the past few seasons, Assombalonga was always going to claim one of the top spots in these particular standings.

Although he has only scored once this season, that goal in the win over Coventry saw Assombalonga overtake Mark Viduka as the club's top scorer this century with 43 goals, earning him second spot here with a valuation of £4.5million.

Taking top spot on this list, is centre back Dael Fry.

Even at just 23-years-old, the Middlesbrough academy graduate has rapidly emerged as key figure at the heart of 'Boro's defensive line in recent years.

The defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League in past, so it is perhaps not to see him rated as the most valuable player in Middlesbrough's current squad, with a valuation of £4.95million.
