Middlesbrough will be hoping for a busy August in the transfer market.

Despite adding several new faces already the feeling is that there's plenty of work still to do in the transfer market.

Neil Warnock's side got their season off to a decent start after securing a 1-1 draw with Fulham in their opening fixture of the Championship, but they''ll still be hoping to do more if they're to push towards a top-six finish.

The coming weeks could be pivotal in Middlesbrough's promotion hopes, but what is the latest on Middlesbrough's transfer efforts?

Here's the latest transfer news to emerge from Teesside.

Head of football appointed

Middlesbrough have appointed Kieran Scott as the new head of football, the club have confirmed.

The 37-year-old is currently working as head of recruitment for newly-promoted Norwich City where he has been working under sporting director Stuart Webber.

However, Scott will now take the newly-formed position at the start of September following the end of the current transfer window.

Neil Warnock delivers transfer update

The Middlesbrough boss has hinted that more new signings could be on the way.

Warnock has already brought six new players into the club including Joe Lumley, Sammy Ameobi, Lee Peltier, Uche Ikpeazu, Matt Crooks and Martin Payero, but with several weeks left of the window, the 72-year-old has hinted that more signings could be close.

Speaking to Teesside Live, Warnock said: "Well you know about the lads that have been training with us. I’m hoping that we can sign a couple early in the week and then we’re working on a couple more."

Hayden Coulson

The left-back is closing in on a season-long loan deal with Ipswich Town, according to Twtd.co.uk.

Coulson has fallen down the pecking order with Middlesbrough and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Riverside Stadium at some point this summer.

It's now expected that the 23-year-old's move to Portman Road will be completed imminently.
