Sky Bet Championship sides Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Kadeem Harris on a free transfer, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 26-year-old is currently a free agent having been released by Cardiff City, upon the expiry of his contract at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The winger made just three appearances for the Bluebirds in their promotion-winning 2017/18 campaign, and was limited to just three starts in the Premier League last term.

And, after making 79 appearances for the Welsh club since joining from Wycombe in 2012, the wide-man now finds himself without a club going into the 2019/20 campaign.

Now, Football Insider claims that both Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing the pacey attacker, who would be available to sign on a free transfer this summer.

Both clubs are in the market for a new winger, with ADO Den Haag winger Sheraldo Becker being linked with a move to either Boro or the Owls in recent times.

Able to play on either flank, the winger would add real pace and skill to any of the reported clubs interested in signing him this summer.

The Verdict

I think that Harris would be a superb signing for either Boro or Wednesday this summer.

Things didn't really work out for him in the Premier League with Cardiff, but on his day, he has the ability to cause the opposition some real problems going forward.

Both Boro and Wednesday are desperate for a new winger who can pick the ball up and run forward, and on a free transfer, this would be a shrewd piece of business.
