Middlesbrough are in talks to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie on loan, according to reports from Sky Sports.

It has been a busy summer transfer window for Boro, who have brought in five new players under the stewardship of Neil Warnock.

The 71-year-old is now targeting his sixth signing of the summer, with the club reportedly entering talks to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie on loan.

Bolasie is out of favour at Goodison Park, and his last appearance for Everton came over two years ago in a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United in the Premier League.

The winger has spent the past two seasons away from Merseyside, spending the 2019/20 season on loan in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon, scoring two goals in 25 appearances for the club.

Sky Sports claim that talks are underway and Bolasie is keen on a move to Teesside, with Keith Downie adding that Everton need to subsidise a significant chunk of the player's wages in order for a move to work.

Bolasie and Warnock have worked together previously at Crystal Palace, and a second reunion now looks to be in the offing.

The Verdict

This would be an exciting signing for Boro.

Bolasie is a quality player who has impressed in the Premier League in the past, and he has qualities that will really help him thrive at the Riverside.

He possesses real pace, he has a trick or two in his locker and he can create plenty of chances for his teammates. On loan, it would be a smart bit of business.
