Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo is poised to sign a deal with Hull City, according to Nigerian sports outlet SL10.
Omeruo spent the latter half of the season at Middlesbrough, making 14 league appearances in the process and it was thought that they were close to extending his stay at the Riverside Stadium.
The 20-year old Nigerian international defender has impressed whilst on international duty at the World Cup with his nation and has attracted the interest from Hull with his superb performances in Brazil.
It is now thought that Aitor Karanka’s hopes of signing Omeruo are dashed following Hull’s interest.
It is thought that Hull are preparing to swoop the defender from Boro’s noses and have offered Chelsea a loan deal.
Chelsea may very well prefer to loan Omeruo to Hull as he would gain Premier League experience and Europa League experience from joining Steve Bruce’s side as Chelsea prepare Omeruo for an opportunity at Stamford Bridge.
It was believed that Omeruo’s preferred choice was originally Middlesbrough, but an opportunity to play in Europe and the Premier League may be too good to turn down.
