Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis is looking to add some new players to his squad, and will make a move for Hibernian midfielder Jon McGinn, according to Alan Nixon.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been in impressive form once again this season for the Scottish side and his performances have attracted a whole host of admiring glances from England, but it now appears the Boro manager Pulis is wanting to jump the queue and sign McGinn.

The new Boro manager is keen to add some names to his squad in January as he looks to freshen a few areas up ahead of what he hopes will be a run at the playoff places in the second half of the Championship camapaign.

However, the Scottish season is now out of action for a few weeks, and Nixon claims Pulis will wait until the action is back underway before making any move for the midfielder.

McGinna has become one of the most highly sought after prospects in the Scottish league, and Boro will no doubt have to contend with the likes of Celtic and Rangers if they do want to complete a deal for the midfielder.

Boro fans, what do you think? Good move? Let us know in the comments!
