Middlesbrough could be set for a big boost in midweek with the return of defender, Hayden Coulson.
The 21-year-old has been missing since being injured in the opening weeks of the season, but following the loss to West Brom yesterday, manager Jonathan Woodgate confirmed that he will have Coulson fit and ready for selection if needed.
“Coulson will be available for selection on Wednesday,” Woodgate said, with quotes taken from the Hartlepool Mail.
Boro have struggled for results this season in Woodgate’s first full season in charge and are currently finding themselves embroiled in something of a relegation battle at the moment down in 21st position.
This weekend’s defeat to table-toppers West Brom saw Woodgate’s men put in a much better performance than they have been putting in of late, but once again they found themselves coming away from the game.
Woodgate admitted following the game that he might be open to changing the tactics of his team if it means getting wins on the board.
Coulson, on the other hand, could well find himself thrust immediately back into the action following his return from injury as Woodgate looks to ensure his team get some much-needed wins on the board.
It’s obviously a boost to have any members of your squad back so Woodgate will be pleased to see the young defender back to fitness.
He was playing well before his injury so it won’t be a big surprise to see him thrust straight back into first-team action in midweek.
