In-demand Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is reportedly most likely to be sent on loan to the Championship for the 2022/23 campaign in a boost to the likes of Middlesbrough, QPR, and Sunderland. 

The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell with MK Dons last season – scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists as he helped Liam Manning's side reach the play-offs – and looks set for a return to the EFL this season.

Boro, Preston North End, QPR, Sunderland, and Swansea City have all been linked but The Athletic's Charlie Eccleshare has claimed there is League One interest as well.

However, Eccleshare has told the Sunderland Echo that Spurs' plan for the in-demand forward is to send him out on loan – most likely to a Championship club.

The Republic of Ireland international last spell in the second tier was forgettable as he failed to score once for Millwall in the first half of the 2020/21 campaign and was recalled in the winter window.

Parrott only has a year left to run on his Spurs deal but the north London club have the option of a one-year extension.

The Verdict

This is good news for the likes of Boro, QPR, and Sunderland.

Another loan move for Parrott is on the cards and it appears it is most likely to be to a Championship club.

That makes sense as he was playing for a top League One team last term and the natural progression is for him to step up into the second tier.

There looks to be no shortage of clubs set to offer themselves as a potential destination while previous reports have suggested it will be down to where can offer him the most minutes as a number nine.
