According to The Daily Mail, Middlesbrough are ready to make moves for two Premier League goalkeepers as they seek to bring in a new number one.

Garry Monk has identified goalkeeper as a priority in the transfer window as he seeks to find his new first choice stopper this summer.

Middlesbrough's first choice goalkeeper was Victor Valdes last season but the former Barcelona man has left the club.

Meanwhile, Brad Guzan has departed to join the MLS.

Boro's current options include fans' favourite Dimi Konstantopoulos, who was their number one in 2015/16, and Connor Ripley, who was named as the best goalkeeper in League One during a loan spell with Oldham Athletic last year.

However, Garry Monk still wants to sign a new goalkeeper and he is looking at Newcastle United's Karl Darlow and West Ham United's Darren Randolph.

Both Darren Randolph and Karl Darlow spent the middle period of the 2016/17 term as the first choice goalkeeper at their respective clubs last season but they started as deputy and ended the campaign as second choice again.

Middlesbrough are locked in talks with Karl Darlow over a potential switch as he faces competition from Rob Elliot, Tim Krul and whoever Newcastle bring in this summer.

Boro are also keen on Darren Randolph, who could leave to pursue his Republic of Ireland ambitions ahead of the World Cup.

The 30-year-old is now behind Joe Hart and Adrian in the pecking order at West Ham so he could leave this summer.
