Newcastle United are interested in making a move for Middlesbrough winger Adam Traore, according to the Chronicle Live.

The former Barcelona man has yet to really set the world alight since moving to England back in 2015, when he signed a deal with then Premier League club Aston Villa. However, a move to Middlesbrough and some decent performances last year demonstrated that he does indeed have some talent in the locker, and now Newcastle could swoop.

Traore, still only 21-years-old, may well be open to a move back to the Premier League with the newly promoted Magpies, despite it representing a move to Boro's North East rivals.

The Spaniard has the ability to play on either wing and his blistering pace make him a devastating threat on the counter attack. Traore needs to add more in terms of his final ball and decision making, but Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez may well see him as a chance worth taking as he prepares his team for next season.

Middlesbrough are preparing for life back in the Championship, while Newcastle are back in the top flight after sealing the Championship title on the final day of the season last time out.

Boro fans, what do you think to this? Sad to lose Traore? Let us know!
