Middlesbrough are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion forward Kenneth Zohore on loan, according to TEAMtalk.

Zohore is out of favour at West Brom, and with the Baggies trying to lure Karlan Grant away from Huddersfield Town, the striker's game time could become even more limited next season.

The 26-year-old joined West Brom from Cardiff last summer, arriving at the Hawthorns for a reported fee of £8m, but he's yet to make a real impact under Slaven Bilic thus far.

Quiz: Can you name where each of these 14 ex-Middlesbrough players are playing now?

The Danish forward has made only five starts in the Championship thus far, scoring five goals in a total of 20 appearances for the Baggies.

A loan move away could now be in the offing for Zohore, with Neil Warnock plotting a reunion with the striker.

Warnock is no stranger to Zohore having managed him during his time at Cardiff City, before letting him leave for West Brom last summer.

Zohore scored nine goals and produced five assists as the Bluebirds won promotion from the Championship in 2017/18, but the following season, he scored only one goal in the Premier League.

According to TEAMtalk, Boro are attempting to take Zohore on loan, an idea which West Brom are said to be open to.

The Verdict

This is a move that perfect sense.

Going forward, Boro definitely need more firepower, as Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher are their only real options at the moment.

Zohore hasn't been able to make a proper impact at West Brom thus far, but he's done well in the Championship before, and Warnock clearly knows how to get the best out of him.
