Middlesbrough will demand at least £15m for striker Britt Assombalonga, according to a report in the Northern Echo.

The former Peterborough man is attracting attention this summer as clubs in the Championship look to splash the big bucks on proven strikers, and Assombalonga has gone to the top of many lists, including the likes of Leeds and Forest.

However, Boro are not wanting to lose their strike ace, nor are they willing to lose his partner Patrick Bamford, and the club have slapped a hefty fee on the head of both strikers to ward off potential interest.

Assombalonga has been inconsistent since making a big money move to Teeside, and some fans in the north east have suggested that they would not be too bothered if the club were to sell the pacey forward.

The proven strike ace will no doubt be in demand if Boro do indeed decide to sell, however at £15m, it is hard to see just who in the Championship would be willing to put up the money to complete a deal.

Boro are hoping to make a run at promotion this season under Tony Pulis after losing out in the playoffs last season at the semi final stage.

Boro fans, what do you make of this? Would you sell if an offer came in? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
