Championship trio Middlesbrough, Norwich City, and Wolves are eyeing up a move for Le Havre hotshot Nathael Julan, reports TF1.
The 21-year-old forward came up through the youth ranks at the French club before earning his senior debut for the side back in October 2015, when he came on as a last minute substitute in their 0-0 draw with FC Niort.
And he has since then gone from strength to strength with the Ligue 2 outfit, netting seven goals in 28 appearances for the club, of which three have already come this term, with the young Frenchman scoring in their win over Auxerre before bagging a brace in their 3-0 success at Paris FC.
More incredibly, Julan came off the bench on both occasions so has netted three goals in just 38 minutes of action, and this sensational start to the campaign has raised his stick ten-fold, with Garry Monk’s Boro, Daniel Farke’s Norwich, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves reportedly keeping tabs on the Ligue 2 hotshot.
Middlesbrough and Wolves have both spent big this summer to develop their squads into promotion contenders, yet bringing in another strong and powerful youngster like Julan would give them another option as the season progresses, while Farke’s Norwich have made a sluggish start to the season and may seek attacking reinforcements to bolster their ranks.
But with reported interest from Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Stoke City, as well as other clubs in France, it remains to be seen whether any of the aforementioned Championship duo can get a deal done for the striking sensation before the August 31 deadline.
The Verdict: Nathael Julan has made a blistering start to the 2017/18 campaign, bagging three goals in two games off the bench for Le Havre, totalling just 38 minutes of action.
He has, perhaps up until now, struggled to nail down a regular first team place in the French side, but he has certainly attracted suitors in the last few weeks after proving his goal-scoring credentials in Ligue 2.
The Championship trio of Middlesbrough, Norwich City, and Wolves will all be targeting promotion to the Premier League this season, and having another forward in their ranks, and one as powerful and strong as Julan, could be invaluable in their quests to sustain a promotion push.
But French interest as well as that from the Premier League may make it difficult for any of them to land the young forward this summer.
