Middlesbrough’s George Saville has issued a message after linking up with his new club teammates.

Saville was a deadline day addition to Middlesbrough’s squad, with the midfielder joining on loan from Millwall.

That deal will become permanent when the January transfer window opens, with Saville set to bolster Tony Pulis’ midfield options.

The 25-year-old has spent over a week away with Northern Ireland, but now he is returning to Boro, ahead of a potential debut this weekend against Norwich City.

Saville has taken to his personal Twitter account this afternoon to deliver a motivated message, as he gears himself up for a promotion push:

Pulis’ side are still unbeaten in the Championship this season, with Boro sitting on 14 points from their opening six fixtures of the season.

Since drawing 2-2 with Saville’s former club Millwall on the opening day of the season, Boro have not conceded a league goal, with Pulis’ side keeping five consecutive clean sheets.

Last time out, only hours after Saville’s signing, Boro held Leeds United to a goalless draw at a sold out Elland Road.

The Verdict

Saville is a good addition to Boro’s squad, and he sounds motivated for the task that’s coming.

The midfielder has had to wait a long time to link up with Boro, but an international break will have helped in some ways.

Now, it’s time for Saville to start justifying his fee, with Saturday a good opportunity for him to push for a start.
