Nottingham Forest will be looking to get themselves into the top six in the Championship next season.

This campaign has seen both good and bad twists and turns this year for the Reds but, overall, they'll be fairly happy with the springboard they could have for next season.

Of course, their league position isn't particularly high but they've got a manager in charge now that many believe is the man to get them back into the Premier League mix.

Indeed, he'll be looking to make some moves in the summer - especially to add more goals to the side - but we've been thinking about how his midfield might look come the new campaign too.

Here's what we came up with...

Ben Watson has been superb since arriving and Forest fans will be more than happy to see him lead the charge next season too.

The Reds have needed someone like him in midfield for some time and now they have got him they can look to build the team around him.

Could Adam Clayton be free for a move away in the summer?

There might be chance and Forest should be looking to capitalise on any decision Middlesbrough make.

The Reds might lose Jack Colback past this summer if they cannot get a permanent deal done and so Clayton could be the ideal alternative.

Cash has looked a sharp player under Karanka and he might get more chances to show what he can do next season too.

He's still a young player and it's hard to remember that sometimes when he puts in bright displays.

His target next season must be to add some more goals to his game and he'll likely know that.

Lee Tomlin is a player Forest fans would love to see stay at the City Ground.

He's proven a fairly big hit since arriving on loan and if Cardiff decide that they do not want him, Forest are surely the most likely side to come in for him.

Let's see if they can pull a deal off.

Lolley is a good Championship pro who knows what it takes to get himself into the Premier League after his work with Huddersfield.

He'll be looking to do the same with Forest next season, then, and that is no doubt why he was signed by Karanka in January.
