Middlesbrough are rivalling Norwich City to the potential signing of PSG youngster Loic Mbe Soh according to a report from L'Equipe.

The defender has one year remaining on his contract with the French giants, and he's seemingly alerted a number of clubs with some impressive showings of late.

The 19-year-old has made three senior appearances for PSG, and has been a regular for their academy teams over the years.

Norwich City are preparing for life back in the Championship, after they were relegated from the Premier League under the management of Daniel Farke.

Whereas Middlesbrough had a season to forget in the second-tier, as they finished 17th in the Championship table, which will be some consolation for the club's supporters, who had previously seen their side struggling in the relegation zone.

They found much-needed positive results towards the end of the season under the management of Neil Warnock as they avoided relegation into the third-tier.

Warnock has recently signed a new deal with the club to remain their manager ahead of the 2020/21 season, and he'll be looking at making new signings to improve their squad.

The Verdict:

This could be a smart signing for Middlesbrough.

They're going to need a centre-back ahead of the new season, with Daniel Ayala leaving the club over the summer, so it's a deal that would make sense.

He's clearly got something about him as well, having featured for the PSG first-team already at the age of 19. It'll be interesting to see which club is to make the first move for Soh, and he'll be hoping to have his long-term future resolved at the earliest opportunities.

It'd be a great signing for either Boro or Norwich City though.
