Middlesbrough have made a late move for Millwall pair George Saville and Jed Wallace, although their bids for the players are set to be rejected.

Boro are frantically looking to add to their squad before the deadline after bringing in around £40m in player sales in the past 10 days.

Patrick Bamford left for Leeds United, before Ben Gibson joined Burnley. Meanwhile, Adama Traore completed an £18m move to Wolves this morning.

It has left Pulis with a squad short in key areas and HITC have revealed that the Teesside outfit made a move for Saville and Wallace.

However, the report also stated that Millwall are reluctant to lose the two players who have been crucial to their success in the past 12 months after joining from Wolves.

The pair starred as the Lions made a late run for the play-offs, with Wallace impressing with his creativity from out wide, whilst Saville impressed in a box-to-box midfield role.

It's unclear whether Boro will return for a second bid for the players or search elsewhere before the 5pm deadline tomorrow.

The Verdict

You can't imagine Boro are going to prise either player from The Den at this stage of the window as they are so crucial to Millwall.

They're both very good players and would certainly add a lot to the Boro squad.

Ultimately though, it seems too late in the window for Millwall to sell and they are pretty irreplacable to Neil Harris and his side.
