Middlesbrough have joined a list of clubs that are interested in signing Norwich City’s Graham Dorrans this summer, with the midfielder set to leave Carrow Road, reports the Mail Online.
Dorrans, along with Steven Naismith, is expected to be made available by Norwich this summer, as the Canaries plan to rebuild after a disappointing return to the Sky Bet Championship.
Rangers are interested in signing the Scottish midfielder, but their £1m bid for Dorrans has fallen short of Norwich’s valuation of the player, which has cast doubt over the player returning to Scotland.
Sheffield Wednesday have also made enquiries over Dorrans’ availability, with Boro now in the race to sign the 30-year old, as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a return to the Championship.
Dorrans scored six goals from 24 appearances across all competitions during the 2016/17 campaign, and despite Boro not currently having a manager at the Riverside Stadium, they are monitoring the Norwich midfielder’s situation.
Boro are yet to find a permanent replacement for Aitor Karanka, who left the Riverside in March, and are reportedly considering a number of candidates ahead of their return to the second-tier.
Garry Monk, Nigel Pearson and Steve Agnew, who took temporary charge following Karanka’s exit, have all been rumoured as potential successors.
