Middlesbrough are interested in Bournemouth's Jordon Ibe, reports journalist Alan Nixon.

The Cherries will reportedly listen to loan offers for the winger as his exit could enhance their chances of taking Harry Wilson from Liverpool on a temporary basis.

Derby were thought to previously be interested in the 23-year-old, but Boro could be favourites if they make an approach, as there is little time left in the transfer window for another club to make an offer.

The winger has struggled for game time on occasion under Eddie Howe, starting only 44 games since joining the club three years ago, and given the wing options at the club Howe may support the loan move in order to guarantee Ibe more minutes.

Boro are currently quite short of wing options, particularly on the right flank, so Ibe would be a welcome addition who could allow Woodgate to play a wider, more expansive style.

The Verdict

Ibe would be a very good signing for any Championship side. He has shown he has real quality but unfortunately for him and Bournemouth there have only been glimpses of that over the last three years.

Playing in a team like Boro on a regular basis would allow him to find some consistency and rediscover his best form, and he could quickly prove a menace to opposition defences.

He is very pacy and direct and not afraid to try the extraordinary. He would be a very good outlet for Boro and he should link up well with the likes of Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher.
