Queens Park Rangers have rejected a bid in the region of £6m for Matt Phillips, according to West London Sport.
The bid is believed to have come from promotion favourites Middlesbrough, who are also tracking Fulham’s Ross McCormack.
Phillips has been one of the shining lights for QPR in what has so far proved to be a dismal campaign, and he scored most recently in the tie at Rotherham United last weekend.
The man signed from Blackpool in 2013, has attracted plenty of interest since the summer, with West Brom failing to reach an agreement for him. Watford and Bournemouth are also believed to be interested in acquiring his services.
Phillips has made over 70 appearances for the Hoops after spending previous spells with Wycombe, and Sheffield United on loan. He has impressed watching scouts around the country with his ability to beat his man at pace and deliver an end product.
The pacy wide man would more than likely be keen on a move to a club seemingly in a more promising situation than Rangers, and a move to Middlesbrough would appear to be a good one for him to achieve his aspirations of playing in the top flight again.
