Yannick Bolasie will push to secure a move in the January transfer window, according to the Northern Echo.

The Everton man is way down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti and looks all-but set to leave the club.

Middlesbrough were one of the clubs interested in a move during the summer transfer window and were painfully close to getting a deal over the line.

That deal fell through at the eleventh hour, much to the frustration of both the Teessiders and the player himself.

As a result, Bolasie is now training with Everton once again as he looks to get himself ready to hit the ground running when a move does materialise.

Whether that move will be to Middlesbrough, however, remains to be seen.

The Teessiders have made an excellent start to the season with their recent 10-match unbeaten run in all competitions taking them up to seventh place in the Championship as we go into the international break.

But Neil Warnock is still thought to be keen on a move after saying last week that he'd be open to signing Bolasie or West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki.

Asked if he'd be interested in a move, as quoted by Teesside Live, Warnock said: "Absolutely, I'd have those two tomorrow, yeah - and a few others.

"They're the type I think would benefit from coming with us."

The Verdict

It was a shame that this move didn't materialise over the summer, but Middlesbrough won't mind too much.

Things have gone exceedingly well for Neil Warnock's side since the transfer window closed and that has seen them establish themselves as genuine promotion contenders.

Of course Yannick Bolasie is a very talented player who would add something to the group.

Whether this is a deal that will be revived in January remains to be seen, but one thing we do know is that Bolasie will be very keen to secure a move away as he looks to get his career back on track.
