Middlesbrough handed double player boost

Published

on

Middlesbrough have been boosted by the fact that both Dael Fry and Martin Payero have returned to full training, as per a recent report by The Northern Echo.

Fry had previously been sidelined since before the last international break just gone, with the centre back having limped off in the defeat to Hull City.

Whilst Payero picked up an Achilles problem before the break, with the Argentine playmaker having yet to have made an appearance under the club’s new boss Chris Wilder so far.

The news that the two players will soon be back available for selection will come as a massive boost for Boro, who have seen much of their campaign so far ravaged by injuries to key and important players.

However the North East outfit are set to be without the services of Lee Peltier for three to four weeks after the veteran defender picked up a hamstring injury recently, thus seeing him join the likes of Grant Hall on the treatment table at the Riverside Stadium.

How many league goals did Alvaro Negredo score in 16/17?

Middlesbrough are back in Sky Bet Championship action next weekend as they play host to Swansea City on Saturday.

The Verdict

This will be great news for Wilder and his staff as the plot the best route towards reintegrating the duo back into the team.

Both Fry and Payero are the type of players that should thrive as part of the system that the new Boro boss has put in place and they will undoubtedly be keen to prove themselves again moving forwards.

Fry should slot in nicely to the back three, whilst Payero will once again offer the creativity required to help the team in games that are tightly contested in the league.

It will certainly be intriguing to see if Wilder can get a good  tune out of both players, with the duo still being as valuable as ever to Boro.
