Middlesbrough are set to rival AFC Bournemouth in the race to sign Ryan Kent from Liverpool this summer, with Garry Monk keen to give the youngster another opportunity in the Sky Bet Championship, reports the Sun.
Kent has made just one senior appearance for Liverpool, and is expected to find himself away from Anfield when the 2017/18 season starts, with the potential of either a loan or permanent move happening this summer.
Bournemouth have been linked with a permanent move for the Liverpool winger, with Eddie Howe’s side lining up a £6m deal for Kent following Boro’s interest.
Boro look set to rival the Cherries for Kent’s signature, after the 20-year old impressed whilst on-loan in the Championship with Barnsley during the 2016/17 campaign.
Kent featured in 44 of Barnsley’s 46 Championship fixtures last season, helping Paul Heckingbottom’s side impress on their return to the second-tier.
