Middlesbrough forward, Martin Braithwaite had a time to forget on Teeside and it came as no surprise to see him head out on loan for the remainder of the season.

But the out-of-favour striker has ruled out a return to Boro when his loan spell expires at the end of this year's campaign.

The 27-year-old broke the news in an interview with Ekstra Bladet, and he also had some harsh words to say about Tony Pulis' tactics.

"I'm not coming back to Middlesbrough, I can't imagine that.

"The project I was presented with at Middlesbrough changed completely when Pulis arrived. He has a strange way to play football. The team plays defensively with long balls. It's really kick and rush. It doesn't look so good to me."

He is currently on loan with Spanish side, Leganes, but he revealed that he doesn't expect to be at the club, especially with Leganes not having an option to make his loan deal, a permanent one.

"Leganes have no purchase option on me. I'm very happy to be at the club, but I don't think it's a place I'm going to continue because they probably can't pay the transfer fee for me.

"I want a little more stability with regards to my football future. (I want to) find a club where I can play for a long time, not least for my family's sake."

Leganes are said to be wanting to make a permanent move for Braithwaite, but Boro's steep asking price is likely to end their interest in Braithwaite.

One thing is for sure in saying that his future certainly won't be with Middlesbrough next season, and it'll be interesting to see where he heads to in the summer.

The Verdict:

I'm stunned by his comments.

Braithwaite has ended any chance he had of returning to the Middlesbrough team next season with this latest revelation and Middlesbrough supporters will be furious.

Boro will be looking to sell him as quickly as possible in the summer.
