Reports from HITC have revealed that Championship club Middlesbrough are lining up a move for Bristol City defender Aden Flint.

The 28-year-old has been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer with Birmingham and Middlesbrough seen as the front runners for his signature, Norwich have also emerged as a possible destination for Flint.

Flint, who has become a key member of the Bristol City squad since his arrival at the club in 2013, has only made one league appearance this season due to the uncertainty of his future.

During only his second season at the club, Flint played every minute of every game during the 2014/15 season as Bristol City stormed to the League One title conceding just 38 goals in the process.

Birmingham have so far had two offers rejected for the 28-year-old with Bristol City refusing to budge until their asking price is met.

The Verdict

Flint has the potential to be a quality signing for any of the three clubs interested whether it is Middlesbrough, Birmingham, or Norwich.

The only question we have is whether the 28-year-old can live up to the much higher expectations especially at a club like Middlesbrough.

However, he is proven at Championship level and if he could settle in quickly and understand the expectations for Boro would likely to be to regain their Premier League status then he could certainly play a big role in achieving that.

Garry Monk’s side hasn't had the best start to the season with two wins, one draw and two losses so the 38-year-old will want to conclude some deals before the transfer window closes.
