Middlesbrough are in advanced talks with Aston Villa winger Adama Traore, according to Gazette Live.
Adama Traore has made it clear that he wants to leave Villa Park this summer after Roberto Di Matteo tried to convince him to stay. This was confirmed by Aston Villa chairman Dr Tony Xia on Twitter.
Gazette Live understands that Adama Traore could be set for a medical today ahead of a deadline day move and he has travelled to Middlesbrough ahead of a proposed permanent transfer.
Talks are expected to take place on Tuesday night before the medical on Wednesday.
Traore joined Aston Villa last summer from Spanish giants Barcelona for about £7m and showed glimpses of his brilliance in his nine league matches for the Villains.
The 20-year-old is a tricky and pacy wide man who can cause defenders all sorts of problems on his day.
The former Spain under-19 international is keen on a move to the Premier League and supposedly has a relegation clause, which could help this deal go through.
Aston Villa fans – what do you think? Would you be disappointed to lose Traore? Or do you want to sell players who clearly don’t want to be at your club?
