Middlesbrough are one of several Championship clubs monitoring the situation of Denmark midfielder Emil Larsen, according to HITC.
The 24-year-old’s contract at Odense expires at the end of the season, but there is a buyout clause that means he could be signed on a cheap deal.
Aitor Karanka’s men face competition from a number of other unnamed sides in the English second tier, and there is also interest in the attacking midfielder from Germany and the Netherlands.
Larsen began his career at Lyngby BK where he scored 22 goals in 72 games, before moving to Danish giants Odense.
With his current employers, he has scored 16 times in his 93 appearances and caught the eye of a number of European clubs.
He has also appeared for Denmark at every level from under-16 to the senior squad, with whom he has won five caps since making his debut in 2012.
