Mick McCarthy named Championship Manager of the Month

The Football League have confirmed that Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has been named the Manager of the Month for November.

The Tractor Boys won three of their four league games in November with performances improving significantly over that time.

Ipswich’s 2-2 draw with Wolves was sandwiched in between back-to-back wins over Bolton and Rotherham and an impressive 3-0 away win at Charlton.

After a difficult run in the previous month, McCarthy has taken his side up to ninth in the Championship with just a point separating them and Cardiff, who occupy the final play-off place.

He moved to Portman Road in 2012 and turned their fortunes around following difficult spells under Roy Keane and Paul Jewell, guiding them to the play-off semi-finals last season.

Ipswich are hoping to mount another promotion push this season and they face MK Dons on Saturday as they look to bounce back from defeat to Middlesbrough last Friday.

Ipswich fans…What do you make of the news? How much has McCarthy turned things around since he joined? Are you happy with how your season if going? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
