‘Mick McCarthy masterclass!’ – Ipswich fans react to retaining 100% record

Ipswich Town became one of only four teams in the second tier to win both of their first two Championship matches, with a 2-1 away win against Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.
Tom Bradshaw opened the scoring for the home side, with his second goal in two matches, to send the Tykes in at half time in front.
An inspired half time substitution from Tractor Boys’ boss Mick McCarthy, as he sent on Lewis McGoldrick and new signing Martyn Waghorn for his debut, in place of Tristan Nydam and Myles Kenlock.
Both substitutes went on to score – McGoldrick got the equaliser on 53 minutes, before Waghorn marked his debut in the perfect manner, with the winner, 20 minutes from time, to fire Ipswich into fourth place in the fledgling Championship table, and ease some of the tension that has long since been building between the Ipswich fans and manager McCarthy.
Ipswich fans reacted happily to the result, and they are clearly enjoying their side belying pre season expectations, the aforementioned tensions and a limited budget to be up near the top end of the table.
Id look to the PL for a quality loan defender to push the back 3 on #itfc

Love Garners passion and that he plays on the edge. Similar to Diego Costa, intimidate defenders and get the crowd up for it #ITFC
