Leeds United are on the lookout for a new manager after the Yorkshire club sacked Paul Heckingbottom this afternoon after just four months in charge.
The former Barnsley boss managed to win only four of his 16 games in charge, with the Whites ending up finishing in the bottom half of the Championship last season.
And, that prompted owner Andrea Radrizzani to remove the 40-year old from his position, with renowned Argentinian coach Marco Bielsa the surprise leading candidate to take over.
The former Lille coach, who enjoyed successful spells at Athletic Bilbao and the Argentinian and Chile national teams, would be a major coup for Leeds should they manage to convince him to join.
Yet, it could happen with BBC reporter Adam Pope revealing that the club want a ‘swift appointment’ and that the 62-year old is a real possibility.
The club not revealing too much about the criteria for a new head coach other than wanting a swift appointment. Marcelo Bielsa’s name is the one leading the way & I was told last night that #lufc M.D. Angus Kinnear was in Argentina last week.

He also added that the Whites managing director Angus Kinnear was in Argentina last week, presumably to speak to the coach about the job.
Evidently, then, the pace is picking up with this rumour so here’s how fans reacted to the news…
And u didn’t think to mention that last night.

Different level of CV but same level of experience at our level. Interesting but another punt for me, if a calculated one!

I'm trying to not get ahead of myself and get too excited, because this is Leeds and good stuff doesn't happen to us, and I'm failing. pic.twitter.com/kIYxpYOsLY

Don't cry for me… Adam I feel the club going down the depths again. Why leave it till now. Same with McDermott and the rest. Yet we stuck with all these players from last season. I doubt Pep could sort that out. Maybe owners need to move on.
