The 27-year-old arrived at Deepdale from Exeter in 2019 and whilst he was a useful option at times, he wasn’t the prolific striker that North End were hoping for, as he managed just nine league goals in 65 games.
Therefore, it was no real surprise to see a temporary switch for Stockley sanctioned last season, as he joined the Addicks on a loan basis.
And, he clearly impressed, with Preston announcing the departure of the target man to Charlton on their official site.
Are these 10 facts about Deepdale true or false?
It’s fair to say that most fans feel that this is the right decision from the club, although there is a concern that the funds brought in from this sale won’t be given to Frankie McAvoy to strengthen the squad.
Here we look at some of the reaction to the transfer news from Twitter…
Good player at league one level. Average at best in the championship

Wishing him all the best for the future – never got a real chance at Deepdale

All the best to him. Good in spells and knows where the net is when playing consistently. Hope the funds from the front line movements are reinvested. 👏
