Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce has moved swiftly as he looks to prepare his squad for pre-season, so they look to mount a serious promotion challenge next season.

A player that Bruce seems happy to see move on, is Kosovan international Atdhe Nuhiu, who has been at Hillsborough since 2013, but looks to be on the move amid interest from Macedonian champions KF Shkendija, as per reports from Albanian news outlet Lajm.

But how can Nuhiu's time at the Owls best be summed up in one word?

We discuss........

Kealan Hughes

"Mediocre, in fact it is quite difficult to find a word to describe him which says it all really.

"He has never been a prolific goalscorer and although his all-round play somewhat makes up for that, it is unsurprising that Wednesday haven't had much success in the last few years with him in the side.

"However Wednesday have struggled on the striker front over the last few seasons. Only Gary Hooper came in and hit the ground running before his goals dried up. Some Wednesday fans may be sad if Nuhiu departs, but he will likely be quickly forgotten about."

Alfie Burns

"Interesting – he’s a real fan favourite at Hillsborough in some respects, but you’re always left wanting more from the forward.

"Nuhiu has some great attributes and at a time when Wednesday were struggling, he really stepped up and made a difference, particularly under Luhukay.

"However, I’m not sure he’s what they need moving forward, but that opinion will divide fans.

"An interesting playing style, and I’m sure, an interesting guy."

Gary Hutchinson

“Average.

“He’s been alright; scored a few goals and put himself about.

“He’s never excelled though and he’s never been a game changer.

“He won’t be mentioned in the same breath as David Hirst in years to come, that’s for sure.”

George Brooks

"Important.

"Nuhiu has been an important player for Sheffield Wednesday over the past few years and is currently one of the club’s longest serving players.

"Even though he has frustrated fans at times with some inconsistent performances, he has racked up plenty of appearances over the years and has scored a fair few goals along the way.

"Even though his time at Hillsborough may be coming to an end, his contribution to the team over the past few years should not be underestimated."
